GlamST Website Review - Part 2

Back in March, I reviewed the website www.glamst.com as part of a BrandBacker campaign. Since then, GlamST has made a number of changes to their site and makeover app that I'd like to show you. In case you haven't read my original post,  GlamST is a virtual makeover site created by two telematics engineers from Uruguay. You upload your own photo or use on the of the photos provided to try on different makeup from different lines. After you complete your option you have the option of purchasing your items though Sephora. It's a really cool site and I was excited to go back and try new features.

New Feature #1 - Looks Section

When you click into your Looks section now, the first thing you see are all of the recent looks from bloggers, community, and yourself. Look, there's me!

When you click each photo you will get a pop up window with a before and after of the photo and the makeup products used. You also have the option to love, share, or try a look, as well as looks similar to that one.

The Look feature is great because you get to see what other looks other people are doing and you can even find some inspiration for yourself!

New Feature #2 - Eyeshadow and Eyeliner

GlamST has improved their Eyeshadow and Eyeliner features. You can now chose the shape of your eyeshadow/liner.

They have also updated the Eyeshadow feature so you can choose which eyeshadows to use in a palette and where.

I love the updates that GlamST has done to their site. They improve the experience and make it more personalized. I highly recommend you check it out for yourself at www.glamst.com

Sephora Nail Polish + Goodies Review

I finally placed an order with Sephora a few weeks. I've been meaning to order from Sephora FOREVER, since my birthday (last November) when I received the Beauty Insider birthday offer*. I really like going into their stores, but I now live an hour away from the closest store so it's not very convenient. But they recently had an offer to receive 6 samples instead of the 3 they offer with every order, so I decided to take them up on it. What I really only needed at the moment was a gold sparkle nail polish, and look!:

A really pretty one from the Sephora + Pantone Universe collection! And it's on sale! XD

Here is my package from Sephora:

And here are my goodies:

I received (clockwise from left):
  • Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask (sample)
  • 2013 Benefit Real Birthday Turn-Ons Set (birthday gift)
  • Sephora+Pantone Universe Elemental Energy Nail Lacquer in Gold Glitter
  • Algenist Genius Cream (sample)
  • Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation (sample)
  • Dior Hydra Life Pro-Youth Protective Creme (sample)
  • Marc Jacobs Beauty Genius Gel Super-Charged Foundation (sample)
I loved everything! First, let's look at the nail polish:

There's a good concentration of sparkles and I love the variation of sizes.

The 2013 Benefit Real Birthday Turn-Ons Set had obviously been sitting in my cart for awhile. I am glad I was finally able to get it. The set consists of small tubes of Benefit's They're Real! mascara and Watt's Up! Soft Focus Highlighter for Face. I really like both products. The mascara has a really good brush to it and applies well. The highlighter is like a champagne-coloured cream eyeshadow. I used it as a highlighter with my eyeshadow and I really liked the look.

I really enjoyed all of the samples I received. The mask was the first thing I used, because I love masks, and if worked great and smelled lovely. I would definitely buy that. I would say my favourite face cream was the Dior. It felt really luxe going on and I noticed a difference in my skin the most with that one. My favourite foundation sample was the Hourglass one. It had the best texture and matched my skin the best (the sample I received on the Marc Jacobs was too yellow).

I definitely plan on ordering again and you should definitely check out Sephora. They have a wide variety of brands and *if you join their Beauty Insider club, you can receive a gift for your birthday like the Benefit kit I received. Visit www.sephora.com to start shopping!

GlamST Website Review

I was given the opportunity to review the just launched GlamST (www.glamst.com) website by Brandbacker. GlamST is a virtual makeover site created by two telematics engineers from Uruguay. The software was originally used by L'Oreal in their country.

I started on GlamST by creating an account, which is linked to either my Facebook or Google account. Once I was set up, I was asked my hair colour, skin type, eye colour, and complexion. The program gave me sample photos to use based on my choices or I had the option to upload my own photo, which I did. The software automatically finds your eyes, lips, and face outlines and you refine the selections (I only needed to do a bit of fixing). One thing to mention though is to try and have good light in your photo. The lighting in mine made my skin look warm even though it's cool. It made it a little wonky when trying on foundation.

They give you a wide selection of makeup brands to try out, including really luxe ones like Givenchy and Dior. Of course those were the ones I HAD to try, since I can't afford them in real life. A cool feature is that as you use them, it gives you the option of purchasing them through Sephora.

Here is my before and after:

I really love this software. I've used virtual makeover sites before, but this one is the most realistic. The makeup doesn't look painted on, and you can see subtle differences in the mascaras, lipsticks, etc. I would definitely use this again, especially when looking to purchase makeup (and I do love Sephora!)
